A large crowd is expected to gather in Hammarskjold Plaza on September 24th in a show of support for the UN Millennium Goals to address poverty, inequality and climate change, in anticipation of world leaders at the United Nations adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development., comprised of 17 new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or Global Goals.
In Hammarskjold Plaza, images of global events in other major cities will be displayed on video screens, and a stage show will present dynamic young campaigners, celeb guests, and pop-up choirs.
An interactive light installation will spark light sources across the park, powered by people’s action! These lights will build throughout the event to reflect the voices and actions of people on that day, leading up to the finale moment when a beam up into the sky shines a physical light on the UN.
