The flower beds between the fountains have been completely replanted with an eye-catching display of  shrubs and perennials. Friends of DHP contracted the New York Horticultural Society to design and install the plantings. Fencing now protects the garden border.  The project was made possible by support from the Greenacre Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Zeckendorf Development.

Shrubs:  Hydrangea (pink and blue flowers), Itea (white flowers), and Hypericum (yellow flowers). Perennials: Hostas (white and blue flowers) and Astilbe (white, pink, magenta, and red flowers) .
